So I picked up a used amp yesterday. Its apeavey minx 110. Got a good price on it. I have a squier vintage modified 70s jazz bass. I am getting a heavy buzz from the amp. I am convinced its the amp as I played the bass in store and I have no buzz. It buzzes bad when the tones all the way full or also if I have only the neck pup or thebridge pup solo volume. any suggestions to remove the buzz.

I de oxited the input pot on the amp. and tightened the nut holding the jack in the amp. helped a it.

It is the power supply in that amp. It is very susceptible to EMI. You can try changing outlets. Check the bulbs around as the CFL and cheap LED bulbs can cause a lot of noise. The soloing of pickups causing the hum is the dead giveaway. You may try sheilding your bass cavities.

it doesn't buzz when no cord is connected as soon as you connect the cord the buzz is maddening. i know its def not the bass at least. I tightened the input jack from the outside and that helped. gonna open it up and tighten the jack from the inside later
