True. But a lot of music was played with horizontal PA stacks too, and nowadays they're rarer than hen's teeth because they don't work as well
Can't argue with that, Rich.No doubt. Basically pontificating on the difference between technical specs and what sounds musically pleasing. I've heard a lot of crappy setups that sound really, really good.
so 2 x 410 PN cabs should handle everything with a SVT4 pro head?
only reason i ask is using a Hartke 410 at the moment and the Hartke 3500 amp.
i play in drop C and we are metal/hard rock but the hartke can not handle the ESP F255 5 string tuned A - C - G - C - F. soon as you hit the A string she just crackles and give a very crap low note..is not clear at all.
does the same on the 4 string in drop C, thats an ESP b104 with SD active blackouts in it. has alot of growl and punch but not clear though the hartke.
This is a very old post, but I respectfully disagree with the 410 and 15 pairing in this configuration. Remember this is pro neo stuff {emphasis added}. Neodymium speakers are completely different from full on bass speakers. These cabinets were made for bi amping and to compliment each other as a portable duo. I think the 4x10 x 115 in the context of neodymium is a great pair. Not in full on cabsAbsolutely. The idea that a 115 compliments the 410 is engineering by looks.
