wow, I thought, Neutrik discontinued this exact model more than ten years ago!
(and yeah, it's definitely 'female', as you can see from the model's name)

no, they should work, but I'm a bit surprised, shops still have them.

They were still available to the larger cable houses and OEM manufacturers many years after the retail versions were discontinued.
