The Guitar Fetish tort is faux tort, a printed image. If it's black/RW, I vote mint green.

proof is in the pudding, it looks good as all heck. and its only 16 bucks.

i'm amazed at what they can print nowadays. have you seen some of the new HD printed laminate countertops? they print images of granite on them instead of actual granite, you have to be within 2 feet to even be able to tell.

I've bought tort from Guitar Fetish before. It's the same kind of tort that the Cort factory puts on their guitars (and the Squiers). It's real swirl, but the pattern is very tight, and to my eyes, it looks kinda cheap. The link I posted I've bought a left-handed P-bass version, and it's real swirl with a certain amount of depth to it.

eyguitarmusic.com has nice tort in stock. This isn't a P-bass pickguard, but man, that tort looks lush:

Voted Brown… and I got one from Fender for $35. It was a vintage series, and it is pretty dark. If it was supposed to be bright red, it isn't.

I'm intrigued by their "mint green tortoise". Definitely looks darker and more red than brown.

I have one of these from WD on a sunset orange P. It's quite a dark red, but the perfect match for black. High quality tort and fits perfectly!
