Another selling rant...when a lowball is annoying...

My point is isn't (to me) an issue. For some people, it's not worth getting unless they "win the negotiation ", no matter how good the price. When I buy or sell, I don't take any communication personally. I follow each thred to its conclusion, regardless lf where it ends. I've closed deals on the first communication, I've lost deals on the fifth.
ok.....you seem to have the impression that because I took 30 seconds and posted about it on TB that I am deeply upset or can't handle it. For me it wasn't about "winning the negotiation," possibly was for the potential buyer. I pulled the plug because he was clearly a PITA to deal with, and I didn't want the sale to go south. Period.

Yup, lowballers don’t know when to stop.

I'm not drawn to Reverb as it is really a private sale with a disinterested middleman. I'd rather buy locally in person.

I routinely use of the Make Offer feature on eBay cuz the price is really what you're willing to pay - commodity items are a value loss as soon as you buy them at retail. I'll give 50-60% but no more since you want to sell it, no make your money back or a profit.

OTOH, I will deal honestly and responsively to a seller out of respect for the transaction - pay promptly and leave feedback. My eBay rating is 100% with well over 800 transactions. That's important to me...

I just put "price is firm" in the ad and remind them of it before they come to look at it. Never had anyone not show up, leave without buying the item, or offer less once we meet. That was them coming to my place.

There was one time a guy tried to talk me down when coming to my workplace.

I just nipped in the bud. Reached for the instrument and put it in the case. He said " we have a deal ? ". I told him he knew the price was firm. He forked out the cash lol.
