Double Bass Anybody has some experience with GR 110 combo?

I find a good deal for that combo, its, lite, small, but seems powerful.
The input impedance is 1mohms….
I use wilson pickup in my Wilfer bass. I just rarely bring my amp, to gig, my sound goal is just, clear and even sound….
Please share your experiences with GR for upright!

I use and love the Gr110AT cabinet with my AI clarus. Perfect for me and my basses. 1 MOhm is not enough for the Wilson in my experience, but this may not be true for you.
Thank you for the answer!
I have Wilson K1 not the K4…
I used Aguilar TH350 before, with that pickup, it has also 1Mohms input, it hasn’t lacks bottom, for my ears. Maybe I write to Ole Wilson to ask, what he recommended…..

I have experience with GR One 350 amp and TC BAM amp. The BAM is nice, but the GR is way better sounding.
If you have a chance to get GR combo, go for it. I wouldn't worry about the input impedance much. It's harder to find a good lightweight combo than to find a practical preamp with phase switch...
GR One amp seems well built to me, except for the attachment of fan. In case it was similar in the combo, check whether the fan is not overly noisy when you turn the combo on.

Yeah, I have a Headway EDB II buffer preamp, but I prefer to go simple, and less gear to setup, before a gig….
Otherwise 1Mohms is seems enough most of the time for me, like GKs, Aguilars, but when put a Markbass amp, what have 500Kohms, I hear the lack of bottom without a pre….

This is a wooden cabinet combo, what I find in a classified….
But the weight is 9kg, it,s still pretty light….

All my MAS powered cabinets weigh at least 20 lbs so a complete amp with that small a footprint and weight

is a rare thing. One thing to consider, if the amp is used you won’t have the warranty period on the combo

so should you need a repair you will have to pay for it.

The GR Bass Amps and Cabinets are new so we haven’t had many reviews on the Double Bass side of Talkbass. There are a few very positive reviews off the 110 cabinet. John Goldsby has one and loves it, that’s good enough for me to investigate it.

Hey @Ric Vice — Thanks for the shout out, but I don’t have/use a GR Bass amp. Never tried one.

I’ve used Glockenklang amps for years. I also have a GK MB150 that I use in small clubs. That’s all I’ve used for decades!

John,
Sorry for the confusion and apologies on my part. I thought you had posted a “review” of the GR 110 cabinet singing it’s praises.
That would be one of the few evaluations of GR products by a “authentic source” IMHO.:)
