Anyone gig out with a Squier Affinity?

Looks like he has a Badass bridge on there, but beyond that and the pickguard it looks like it could probably be a stock Affinity P bass. Listen to Weedeater and you will hear just how well that bass delivers through that Sunn rig! No need for him to upgrade any time soon.

That's what I'm talking about man! :)

Hell yes! Do you think that the audience knows or cares what type of equipment is being used?

Of course not.

I've heard plenty of guys with $1000s worth of equipment who had their heads so far up their @sses that they didn't realize how poorly they were playing. Never heard anyone in the audience say "this band sounds like crap, but wow--look at that bass!"

I remain, etc.,

The Terror.

I did a sizable church service with the church's Affinity P-Bass that the youth group kids usually use. I was called in last minute to fill in for someone who had a family emergency. I was arriving from out of town in the morning and couldn't even get home to grab a bass.

I gave it a quick tweaking between rehearsal and the first service and the thing sounded pretty good to my ears. It was honestly hard to tell it was an inexpensive bass on the service board recordings. The hardware on these basses is admittedly cheap, and I'd wreck it in a few months of regular use, but a useable tone was definitely there.

I walked away from the experience with a greater appreciation of the sound that's just in my hands, and a deeper cynicism towards players that sweat meaningless details in the construction of instruments, because in a lot of cases the differences are negligible at best.

This photo truly captures rock and roll in all its glamour.

...I think it's a phenomenal sounding bass and very comfortable to play. I can't stand it when people who are "label whores" turn their nose up to the lesser brands and say "Oh, you can't play out with that!"

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is!

I don't think it is phenomenal sounding bass, but I have gigged with mine and it was alright. My band is a gear at snob, so I don't play live with mine.

Edit: with that specific band..
