Double Bass Are New Standard basses still in business?

Hello,
Were you able to speak with Wil? He finally called me (after leaving him a voicemail and a couple emails). Did you decide on one of his basses? He told me the plys aren’t offered any longer. He’s pretty much just dealing with hybrid and carved LaScala and Pamplona models. Starting at $7500. I’m not sure what that includes (strings,etc). I’d love to own one of these myself.

It probably includes strings and an adjustable bridge.

I can't speak for current status, but I know he has been involved with the New Standard basses. I was up there maybe last year (or the year before) and he had some New Standards "in the white" waiting to be finished and set up. I think he sells them, as well - at least some of them.

Sorry to hear this, although I know Wil de Sola was getting up in years. These are such great basses! I’m privileged to have bought one of the last New Standard Cleveland hybrids from Wil 3 years ago. It is my “forever” bass!

I took one on trade and yes, it’s easy to see why they are popular. Nice bass.
