Barefaced Big Twin II and What Class D Amp?

If you already own an amp I always recommend sticking with that amp with your new Barefaced cab(s), until you get to know the cab(s). Once you have experience of loud rehearsals or gigs with your TH500 and Big Twin 2, then it'll be far easier to accurately advise you on the best choice of amp. It may be that you don't need to change the amp at all!

Thanks for chiming in Alex, I will be gigging with the TH500 until I pay off the BTII. I am looking for a backup or a main amp different from the TH500. It is not that I don't like what the TH does but I want to have a choice. I am also considering the new Aguilar AG700 which will be out before I am done paying off the BTII.

So far people have posted a list of the best amps around at the moment, but you're very close to the launch of the AG700. I'd wait to see how that pans out.

I run either a TH500 or Thunderfunk 750 through my BF cabs and the imminent release of the AG700 is the most interesting amp development on my horizon.

Thanks Chris I thought about listing The AG700 in my poll but since it is not out yet I thought I would get flack from people so I left it out. I am definitely interested in the AG700 and as I said I won't be finished paying for my BF cab until at least April since I am sending payment through my line with PayPal. I am also interested in the Mesa D800+ which I did not realize was available until after someone told me about it in my post. I just can't wait to get my BT and play it live with my band using the TH500 for now.

Well, of course I did not vote since I run mine with a GB Shuttlemax 9.2 (not among the choices), and it seems like a great pairing. I do not think you can go wrong with any of the amps mentioned. The cab sounds clean and huge for a 212, I think you will like it.

I run mine with a Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.0 and it's great!

So I did get the AG700 and it pairs up great with my BTII. Did a couple festivals lately and it is huge sounding. I could not be happier with my sound on a big or small stage. Only thing I am thinking about is a BBII for my smaller gigs just to shut up our soundman that swears my rig is too much for some gigs.

I did the same thing, only it was a super midget. Got the BTII and loved it but had to get something for smaller gigs.
