Yep. Seen a Rockwell Delta cabinet saw kick back (not me) luckily no injuries, but it threw a 1x3 30 feet and then through 4 layers of drywall. I try to stay a little scared of all power tools, but it’s easy to get complacent. I do a similar “dry run” with routers.

I still use a router for a lot of stuff, but due to some tearout tragedies on figured ($$) wood, I’ve mostly settled on using my Robosander to pattern route to final lines. It’s slow as hell, but…. No tearout. I still use either 5/8” or 3/4” dia bits for round overs though. Even small increments can singe the wood a little sometimes if you run it too slow.


Ever try a solid carbide spiral bit? Not cheap, but very effective. You still have to take light passes, but a lot easier to get a beautiful cut than a standard straight bit.
