Best headstock tuner for low B

I see…I tired that with my cheap clip tuner, but doesn’t works, it can’t recognize the pitch….
What clip on tuner did you use?

This D'Addario Eclipse clip on tuner is what I use on all my 5, 6, and 7 string basses. It can detect open string low-B just fine.

This D'Addario Eclipse clip on tuner is what I use on all my 5, 6, and 7 string basses. It can detect open string low-B just fine.

I used one for the first time a few weeks ago and liked it much better than any of the Snarks.
$11 and available in a day!

PS- They also make a version of this for cello and acoustic bass but D'Addario recommends the guitar version for electric bass.

I have a few tuners and each one reads low B differently. Most of the time I have to fret at the 12th to get the note to register, but on my B|Amp it quickly jumps between the notes, where as on my clip on tuners, it's more stable. I have been using the Daddario tuner for about $15 and it's pretty solid, I do need to be very careful with the five string as it has more stray string ringing than my four.

I discovered the TC does the B best when it's clipped as near to the nut as possible, and touching a tuning key. It also works well clipped to the strap near the front strap button.

Yes I have 3 of them. They tune the B perfectly.

Where does it say it will not tune a B string??

I have four TC Clips. Two are made for Bass. I've seen no difference from the regular TC Clips. Works equally well for my Upright bass, 4 and 5 string electrics, and an Acoustic bass. Just looking at the specs, the TC's are far and away the best clip-ons on the market, as far as I know.
