What a warm hearted guy Baby Baba is. He says so nice things about Jaco's funkiness sweetly referring it to Willie Nelson's funkiness enlarging the concept of Funk.
Oddio, at the same time as Jaco had his stint as a boogaloo bassist Bootsie was house guesting and laying rather captivating lines.
Wonder if Jaco was aware of this nicely syncopated bump school?

The guy deserves to have his own topic.
He worked with James Brown on and off for like 30 years.

James Brown admitted that he saw 'Sweet' slapping the bass before anyone did it.

Lately, I have been digging in the James Brown bass players and found isolated tracks.

Here's his bass line to "I Feel Good" - 1975 version.
