breaking in a new cab?

record the 1st hour and note down all the bass/amp settings.....record hour #'s 10 & 25....get someone with good ears to have a listen.......let us know

*** oh , I've heard you should rotate your speakers in the cab every 6 months to counteract gravitational pull on the cone...90 degrees the 1st time, then 45 degrees each time after that..don't want any flat spots at the bottom or stretched out suspension at the top

I decided which cab to invest in and my first brand new bass cab ever is due to arrive this Friday (a Genzler BA12-3)... school me on what I should do to break it in? Every cab I've owned was purchased used and most were "well loved." I don't know what special care is required, if any, to get the speakers to optimum performance.

thanks

CABS DO NOT NEED TO BE BROKEN IN

I've never broken one in, I just use it, working up the volume & lows to see what the speaker likes/dislikes. I did have a new eminence beta10 come unglued in the first couple of minutes of use (and not nearing it's max rating). It was replaced by the dealer- thought it to be a manufacturing flaw.
