Brice headless multi-scaled 5 string - I had to order it!

Update on my new toy!
I'm loving it so far. I was comfortable enough to play it last Sunday with church worship team. I was able to dial in a nice tone and found it very comfortable to play.

I have however just ordered a set of EMG TWX pickups to try in it. I could easily get by with the stock pickups and electronics however while pondering possibilities, I've become very intrigued with these. They are active pickups which are switchable between single coil and humbucker and come with an active tone control. I'm thinking these will suite me well.

Nice new toy!

Is this your first foray into the land of the headless? I’m curious how the build quality holds up compared to the Hohners. I have a Jack bass, and am giving serious thought to picking up one of these...once they fix the exposed timer issue on the four strings.

By the way, you should post your review on the “headless club” page. I’m sure there a lot of people over there who would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Not at all, and my first multi-scale was the 3734 scale Defiant. I've adjusted quite easily. I think most people do from all I've heard. I'm hooked on fanned frets now!

I have a Defiant 3734 5 string, which I love, as well as a headless 404 which is 35" scale. I now understand the attraction of 37" B, and a 34" G is just like my other longa scale basses. But how does a 32" G, or even C, mesh tonewise?

I'm thinking what I might really want Rondo to do next is a headless 5 string (my main players are 5ers) 3734. Only problem I see is the tuners hanging off the body if they use the same tuners they have been using. If they could make one with the tuners not hanging off and requiring a reach no more than my Defiant 53734 i would be all over that!

Hey dabbler,
The 32" G string is awesome! I have to say that the 35" B is great but not in the league of the 37" B string. I've just put on EB Colbalt Flats instead of the D'addario Chromes I had on it for the better B string. I'm using the headless as my main go to however the B string on my Graphite Guitar Systems 34" is as good and the 37" B string is truly amazing on my Defiant 3734 6 string.

I would be very tempted with a headless 3734 with tuners that don't stick out too much also!

I knew it would happen! You guys pushed me over the edge, I ordered a Brice HXB2-405 3235 AN Headless Nat Burl yesterday. But I really gotta sell some stuff to make up for what I just spent!

I'm going to try my fav standard long scale 5 Webstrings on it, but I'll play it as it comes a little first. Actually, I'm a little apprehensive. I'm a J player at heart, and I like their aesthetic a lot, not so into the headless aesthetic, but if I get wowed by this even HALF as much as my Defiant 53437, my main players may start gathering some dust. I've definitely seen, felt and heard the light on the fan fret thing!
