Can Sellers control their default thumbnail images?

When I browse the new classifieds, I see default thumbnail images like
  • close up of frets 5-9
  • close up of headstocks
  • backs of amps
  • close up of the bridge
I can even mouse over an image and zoom in a little on the 7th fret!

The thumbnails are almost never a single, quality, full front view of a bass / amp
They are always random shots I would never want my first impression to be, If I were selling something.

Do sellers have any control at all in what the default thumbnail will be?
Or is everybody just lazy?

The first image uploaded is the thumbnail, and is limited in size on the listings page by width (not height).

Mods can edit the thumbnail if a user requests a different one be used, but yes the first picture uploaded is the thumbnail. I wonder if there should be a prompt to clarify this when uploading pictures.

Since the new look TB, I am surprised at how many sellers allow fuzzy low quality pictures be the one they want to lure you in with....Or the part bass pictures!!

What's going on???
