Car that fits a fridge...

We're looking at getting a new car (SUV) next year and of course I need to plan for fitting my fridge!

Right now we have a 2008 Ford Escape, which fits the 810e like a glove if you fold down the larger fold down seat, and the head fits right beside it. It's like it was designed for the cab (though can't do it when the cover's on...)

We're looking at a recent (not new, probably 2012 - 2014) CR-V - anyone know if this will fit one? Other good SUVs in this class which would work? We're not gonna go much bigger, we want a 'small' SUV. But it's gotta fit the fridge f course!

I would think it would fit. 810 even fits in a lot of small hatchbacks. It's mainly sedans and sports cars that they don't fit in

1976 Sandman will fit the 810 and the SVT

Ford F-150. Get the ext cab and you can call it an SUV.

Go big or go home.

Whatever Dino has, the 810 fits. The problem with any vehicle like this, if the cab is not strapped in and you hit the breakes hard, the cab is going to slide forward and act like a pile driver, potentially injuring whoever is in front of it. You can see how easily it slides in the video.

Getting it in takes you half the way there, a means of tying the cab down is important.

Thanks...kind of. Well, some of you!

This is actually pretty on topic for a thread of this type.

You should see the thread about trying to get a combo to fit in my Roadster, after 20 pages I had bought 8 cars, 3 vans, 9 SUV's, 2 Trucks and enough 810s and 410s to allow all of the 70s bands to play at the same time :D

(actual figures may differ from reality)

I imagine a CRV will handle it. If you're serious about the vehicle see if they'll let you drive it home to check it out.
My Volvo XC70 handles an 810 easily with a seat folded down.

Honestly, an Outback, XC70, or other wagon has a lot more space in the back than a mini-SUV. But, a CRV should be fine.

My 810 fits in my 12 focus hatchback with the seats down. Fits with much more space in my wife's 17 Kia Sorento. It's easier to load in the Kia because the floor is flush with the trunk opening and in the focus the floor is set down several inches from the hatch opening.

I looked at the Focus ST before I bought my Hyundai Veloster Turbo, and I liked how the seats folded down more flat in the Veloster Turbo. Here it is with a Fender 610 (and the SB300 head between the cab and the front seats). My 810e fits easily, as well.

This car is like a Tardis. It's definitely bigger on the inside!
