I don't have to worry about that being Jewish. I put up an LED battery powered menorah on the first day of Hanukkah just for looks, and put it away after the eighth day, very specific. Even with that, I love all the Christmas movies, number one being It's A Wonderful Life, then Miracle on 34th Street (colorized), White Christmas, Holiday Inn, with The Apartment close behind. I also prefer the 1938 Reginald Owen, Gene Lockhart version of A Christmas Carol, Bill Murray Scrooged, the two Die Hards, Home Alone, with Elf down the line and The Santa Claus.

Start of february.

Here is why: I am not religious, never cared about christmas season. In my late 20s I moved from Germany to Central America - where there is no winter. I came back five years ago and now I NEED christmas. It is all just so incredibly cozy, the candles, the smells, the red and green colors, the music, the cookies and chocolates and you name it...
But you do that even before winter really starts. That's insane! There is nothing more soul crushing than stowing all the good stuff away in january and having three months of cold, grey, wet misery still ahead of you with absolutely F!A! to look forward to!
I can take november, december and a bit of january with the momentum
of the past year. Give me christmas when winter depression really kicks in and don't make me pack that stuff away until the sun comes out again!

Movies: OK to watch them while fighting off turkey coma.
Lights: A guy I know has PROGRAMMABLE lights up all year, just changes the colors for each holiday. I think I need to start this as a tradition in my house.
Tree: Never. put a potted tree on your deck if you must.

In China we really only celebrate Christmas for fun, so anything can be done anytime really. A new tradition is to give apples on Christmas' Eve, since their Chinese names sound similar. Apple is"ping"guo, also similar to "ping"anguo which means "peaceful fruit", and the Eve, "Ping"anye, means "Night Of Peace".

My wife and I love Christmas, so we'll watch Christmas movies most anytime of the year. Exception being maybe January-March, because by the time Christmas is over, we've had our fill. But as soon as it starts getting hot here, we'll be back in the mood for snowy and wintry holiday scenery, however fake it may be. Don't get me started on the anticipation of the Christmas In July movies! :hyper:

And yes, I'm one of those who put up the tree and outdoor lights in mid-November. So sue me.

Strictly speaking for me, bassdude51................the only Xmas movie worth watching is......................

Which is a movie more about getting a B B gun than anything else. Excellent movie! Watch it any time of the year!

Plus the movie was actually shot in The filming location of A Christmas Story is located at 3159 West 11th Street, Cleveland, Ohio. (My home State!)
