That's the model that these other pedals are versions of. The version pictured has been improved upon for bass, in a smaller package, and with standard power inputs.

Mxr...

The Proco made rats are all guitar based (except the juggernaut that no one likes...), have weird inputs and WILL lose some Low end... However doesn't stop many bass players using it... The mxr is made for bass, has a blend, standard 9v input plus normal based rat and turbo based rat modes... If I was in the choice of getting a rat based pedal the mxr would be it for me..

I own a turbo rat which I used once and just didn't fit my band mix, did sound ok in a noise peice where it didn't matter if I lost low end though, plus had to get an adapter to get my power supply to work with it due to the weird power input.
