Customer Service

I am UK based hence I don't order from BSO. Shipping is a lot from the US.

I contacted the companies directly bc I felt contacting who I bought the strings from would just contact the string manufacturer anyway so I just cut out the middle man. A lot of strings I order using eBay.

I contacted the manufacturers using their 'Contact Us' section on their website. I can't exactly phone unless I'm willing to pay international call charges.

Doesn't matter if you didn't purchase from me. Contact me with your contact info... I will check with La Bella and DR to see if they have record of your emails. Basically... Giving them a little nudge for you!

Jason and BSO is the best dealer on the planet.

Ernie Ball sent me a whole new set of strings, plus a replacement string, plus stickers and posters.

Dunlop sent me a replacement string and a variety pack of picks.

GHS has responded both on here and Twitter. Not that I've had a problem with the RC boomers I've gotten, I just feel that this is indicative of the service you would get.

I think SIT is the only company I've gotten a bum string from that wasn't taken care of.

I had a problem with a set of D'addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewounds. The silks were to long into the nut. I e-mailed them, thinking I wouldn't hear back from them. 15-20 Minutes later I had a response from them. A couple of e-mails with them, and George Santos is going to send me a new set of ETB92's. I didn't mention to him about replacing the strings, I was just letting him know there was a production problem. I recieved the new set in about 5 days, no charge. That's service, and D'addario brand strings are the only strings I use on my basses.

Many years ago a guitar player I was with talked me into changing pickups on my Jazz V (can't bame him) and offered to do the work, so I let him, and gave him a new set of DR Lowriders to put on.

I suspect he cut the end on the B string before bending it and it unwound.

I called DR and they sent me a new string.

I was kinda hoping they'd sent more, but I was cool with getting the new string. :D

I haven't dealt directly with Dunlop but I would think that they have something to do with how the distributors deal with their products. I stopped at a local guitar store looking for some DR strings. He didn't carry DRs but he wanted me to try the Dunlops he carried so he gave me a set on the house. I bought another couple sets and I had a weird issue where the intonation would be way out on the G string. He replaced the entire set for free. I've been completely happy with the Dunlops I've used since.

Again, maybe it was nothing to do with Dunlop, but who knows, maybe it was.
