Double Bass DB bassist you cant miss?

All of the above! Two of my favorites are Mike Arnopol and Ralphe Armstrong.

These dudes definitely deserve more props!!!!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

When I was at Jamey Aebersold's jazz camp last July I got to hear a dozen jazz bassists in a week. They were all very good, but the stand outs for me were Rufus Reid and Lynn Seaton. I particularly enjoyed Lynn's playing one evening because he not only had perfect intonation and rhythm, but distinctly reminded me of Ray Brown, but maybe a bit hipper, if that's possible. I heard Rufus play later in a bar gig and he was unbelievable - so "on" that it was a real pleasure to hear. John Clayton is also a great bassist I'll go to see when he plays. So many great bassists! We're so lucky to live in this time period!

My son studied with Lynn.
