Here is the neck with 4 or 5 applications of Howard’s.

What is Howard's? I'm in the UK. Has application of it darkened the neck any as that colour is beautiful.

It will darken a little but not much. It does look quite nice on roasted maple, which doesn’t need a hard finish to protect from moisture. Standard maple neck would require something like tru-oil instead to protect it.
Howard’s works well on removing gunk and protecting fretboard as well.
