flip the rightys over you mean then I can play them inverted strings since I'm left handed

actually it should sound the same.
if a righty p ( only ) has one half closer to the neck for the E string, it is also in that config on a lefty, so it "should" sound the same if all the other hardware/strings/body...etc are identical. Same with reverse-p leftys and rev-p rightys. BUUUUUTTTT....
for those in the group of inverted lefty players, the rev-p becomes a norm-p and the norm-p becomes a reverse... hehehehe

It all has to do with how the earth's magnetic field affects overtones on the strings. A right handed bass in the northern hemisphere sounds like a left handed bass in the southern hemisphere and vice versa. The only way you can really tell is by using identical tone woods for both basses and making sure you don't use any class D heads for the experiment. And you need tort.

No difference to the sound, but it keeps the audience in. With a right-handed guitarist, we found it easier to block the exits.

Just swap the ends of you cable and reverse your effects chain-tuner last- and it all works out.
