Even If You Don't Like Slap?

I like the video below even better... however, I'd love to hear to this on a wood-necked bass. Graphite necks really showcase their "plastic-ness" when they're slapped -- they just can't achieve that woody sweetness.

I like that one as well, but the other one is my favorite!

As mentioned before, he uses the technique musically and tastefully, with some flashiness thrown in there for good measure. Not to mention the song includes other techniques like double stops which serve as a good contrast to the popping. Pretty cool.

Like Victor, this guy uses his techniques to a musical end. I enjoyed that.
I was going to say, I find it musically captivating, regardless of the technique used to produce it. Impressive technically, sure, but just nice to listen to.

He never lost the groove for the sake of showing off. Many bassists, especially YouTube bassists, could learn from this.

I was so totally prepared to hate this based on the thread title but, yknow like a car crash I can't look away, so...

And the thing that is so immediately striking about his playing is how DEEP that pocket is! That groove is so freakin' tight. I admit it, I made the stank-face while listening. Impeccable time and feel. Me likey.
