FAQs for all: New builders READ THIS!!!

Just realizing now that my original thread for my first bass is up there, I need to make a correction. Since I moved the blog, the link in my post is no longer fuctioning, and apparently you cannot edit posts that are past a certain age. It would probably be easiest just to point the link in the FAQ to concordisi.blogspot.com. All of the descriptions were screwed up when I moved the site (I'm to lazy to rewrite them), but the pictures are fairly self explanatory, and there are quite a few of them.

Fixed it, though you should check it to make sure. Thanks for letting us know!

Safety:
Keep It Safe, Stupid! The K.I.S.S. acronym (slightly altered) applies here as well. A few days ago, I was reading through a thread and saw that someone mentioned how there “aren’t many 3 fingered bassists out there” today. I imagine that there probably are, but they aren’t very good…

I'm a 3 fingered bassist... :( I think I'm okay. No Jaco or Victor or anything like that but I get by :)

Gentlemen; I am new to the world of bass building, but catching the bug. I've done my share of refinish work, but not a build. I recently purchased a neck-thru Carvin 5 string bass neck unit complete with frets and I am wondering what the standard method of attaching the body wings are. This neck assembly I bought actually does have body wings already attached, but they are too small for my taste and make the bass neck-heavy. I would like to remove them and put on body wings of my liking. Any suggestions, words of wisdom, or thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Wow, you are literally talking about sawing your bass into three pieces, huh. Is this still something you are planning to do?
