Feeling the funk

The funkiest stuff, to me, has a bit of swing to it - and that’s what a lot of people are missing when they come off as “stiff”. It’s not a “jazz” swing - it’s more subtle than that - but it’s definitely there with guys like Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards.

Yes, a Funk swing is not a Jazz swing, especially, when it has (kind of hidden) 16th-note swing.

The following track has a busy bass-line but it's really "groovy." The whole track creates a "jam-like" atmosphere full of dancing and negligent happiness,

Feel that Funk swing.
I would, but of course, slow down it to (max) 60 BPM (from 118) in order to properly articulate the bass riff.

COOL, but...
I don't feel that FUNK, just some "a-la polka" mood.
As a bass player, could anybody help the band to get their "Funk" back?
