Fender rumble 100 smokin

They have had my attention recently.
All I can say is that my left-handed 2012 American Standard Jazz was flawless. The wood; fit, and finish were all world class, and the hardware was perfect. The standard Custom Shop pickups are the best jazz bass p'ups I've ever heard. This bass is leaps & bounds better than anything I ever saw or played in CBS era 70's.
The early 1980's were a total abomination.

All my Rumbles (4) have also been perfect performers with nary a hiccup. My oldest is a V2 Rumble 75 that is 6 years old, and was my daily player until I recently got a V3 Rumble 200 combo that I dearly love.

Interesting; to what inside scoop are you referring, B-String? I used to work in Fender Fullerton, and I love to hear the muck.

Not so "inside". agedhorse and Jeff both were moved to Fullerton from Genz Benz, agedhorse found work at Mesa and Jeff started his own company again. Two quality people not utilized at FMIC.

On the upside, we now have the Subway 800, Magellan 800, BassArray 12-3, Subway 12, Subway 15, Magellan 112T, and Magellan 212T and that's only so far!

You win some, you loose some.

I just got off the phone with Fender. I am taking it in to a "authorized" dealer here in town this week. I am a car guy so I've been very tempted to open her up but I will wait to see what Fender says. What I don't understand is I purchased it from Guitar Center. They are a Fender Dealer however they will not handle the warranty claim. GC told me to call Fender. They will only warranty it if I purchased the Guitar Center extended warranty. I have worked at plenty of new car dealerships and have handled thousands of warranty claims. So this does not make sense to me.

When you purchase the GC warranty, who do you think does the warranty repair work for them? (hint: not GC) The GC warranty on new gear is essentially a scam tactic for uninformed buyers.

Right. That is why I do not purchase the extended warranties. Even on new or pre owned vehicles. Especially when they have a manufacturers warranty like the amp does. What surprised me is GC doesn't have anything to do with the warranty. I have to take it to a little independent guitar shop. Cool to be using a mom and pop but surprising non the less.

But if you have a problem in the first (IIRC) 30 days, G C will just exchange the unit (and deal with the defect) unlike a car dealership. Car dealer if you come back in three weeks they will not exchange for a brand new one.

I believe that they have changed that to 45 days now.. that was what I was told when I bought my last Spector there and also when I picked up my SB300 at a super great price! And both were used..

I am on my third Fender 100 Rumble now. 2 died within warranty period. In Sweden that is. Normal playing, didn't tax it, no dodgy grid, no lightning, no thunder, no borrowing out to careless friends. The two others didn't blow up in smoke, it was starting to sound fizzy for no reason. Instead of repairing, they swapped it out completely to a brand new one, with new warranty going on from that date.

Important note: Bought it in a local music store, that sells sh*tloads of Fender Rumbles. This was the only time they've heard of this. Maybe it's something with my scales.

I e there aint much to change out or repair inside. Even for them, Fender.
