Fender Squier Sonic Series

My local Sam Ash had this in stock so I went and bought it today.
Neck is uber straight and the frets are done well.
It did neck dive pretty bad but the hi mass bridge and anodized pickguard helped a bit with that. I'm going to play with it for a while and if like/keep it, I'll look into some ultra light tuners.

I've been done.

One of my online guitar shops is having a sale, and a few days ago they'd dropped the price of a white Bronco enough for me to dive in. Then I got a message today from Fender UK that the purple LE Bronco is in stock. Now I've got two in the post to me.

Who said life's fair?

I am glad they decided to bring it back over there. :) Thought they were all done with it. I would keep the LE-just love the color-if I had to choose, but it seems you decided to own both. However, they are so affordable it does not matter much, and you could end up transforming them into two unique basses over time.

I am always surprised at how fun/addictive this humble Sonic Bronco bass is-hard to put down. Hope you enjoy them when they arrive, and that they have no problems at all.

Life's good in this case! Just less cash...

Already looks far beyond what you paid for it. Beautiful, affordable P bass. Definitely worth the Ultralites if you come to love it-go all the way if that's the case.

Already have one (Coral) with Deep Talkin' Flats on it. Plan is to leave the purple one with factory strings and put steel RS66S (and white Strat-type knobs and a white strap with white strap locks :D ) on the white one. Forget the EQ or a new pickup to change tone - change the bass.

Gotta love the purple (sorry for reposting this pic)

Switched knobs, but they didn't match! Just ordered some beautiful ones from a Reverb seller/store named "Knobhead" that look awesome-however, the numbers are white (I wished they were black instead, as in these ones.) Will leave these on until those arrive (won't need them afterwards, if anyone wants them, just let me know.) Will update then.

(Just in case it needs be mentioned, love this little Bronco bass! Has been a blast to customize over time, and I enjoy playing it.)

Agree that this 'purple' is a strange, washed-out colour. I put a purple strap on mine, but it killed the body's colour completely. I've now put a black strap and black Strat knobs on it, and IMO it looks much better.

I thought I was going to tolerate them until the next knobs arrive, but it was too much-the color would be fine on another guitar/bass, but it just does not fit either shade of purple I am using (the pickup or the body.) The knobs on my picture look too toy-like, so I just put back the previous chrome ones for now.

In my case, I *am* using a DiMarzio Purple Cliplock extra short size I ordered from them alongside the pickup last year. Neither match the "violet" shade on the bass, but compared to that bright shade of purple on those knobs I am replacing, it feels more natural/less forced and the strap/pickup do match (plus there is no accounting for taste-or lack thereof.) ;)

Agree a black strap would be a more normal look, especially if you are going to keep the stock pickguard-I just went as "extravagant" as I could with an orange/purple theme, as those are colors I frequently match elsewhere for personal reasons.
