Finger implants

I've used cyanoacrylate glue (CA aka crazy glue) on damaged or worn out fretting fingers. Medical people use a medical grade CA glue to seal wounds.

SRV used to apply glue to his finger tip and then touch the skin on his forearm. When dry he'd quickly pull and rip off a section of skin. I think that it's better to CA glue on a small piece of nylon.

If you play metal, wear a chainmail glove.

Try redelevoping your chops on a piccalo bass. Delevop you muscle memory on the piccalo
Oops don't have a piccalo, then use a six string guitar and forget to use those cheese cuter string commomonly known as B and high E.
My blisters feel for you

This thread was started because of a silly thought I had while plucking away in 55 degree basement, cold stiff fingers on cold steel strings (Edit: I know KDB, they're techically not steel:)). I know that I said that those who are going to comment on technique would be 'ignored' but in the end I did think about that. I'm in my cold basement at the moment (I don't want to play through the 20W Mustang Guit-Amp upstairs, I want MY RUMBLE) and I'm thinking, "You know, those guys are right."
So keep hammering about the technique, it's good advice. Some (most actually) of the comments were very entertaining. I thought this would fizzle out in a page or two but it went for nine and I got a kick outta that. VIVA TalkBass. What happens at TalkBass stays at TalkBass. I hope.:wideyed:
