Fingers vs pick?

Restricting yourself to any one of those approaches -- fingers, or pick, or "slapin" [sic] -- would be like restricting yourself to only one gear on a car with a manual transmission. "Yeah, I prefer to drive around all the time in third gear." :::facepalm:::

I don’t agree. I don’t see playing with only fingers or playing only with the pick as a restriction. I can get lots of different sounds just out of my fingers so I don’t need a pick. You don’t have to be good at all techniques to be versatile. Better to concentrate on a few techniques and really master those than doing everything half.

Absolutely. There are advantages to being versatile.
