Frank Zappa Hologram to Play Live

Dweezil did actually argue with Ahmet that it was Ahmet’s responsibility, as joint chair of the Zappa Foundation, to promote his music. It’s the reason the foundation exists. They’ve just focussed on sueing people for copyright in the past. This is at least an attempt to do what they are supposed to be doing.

Dweezil is the only one who should make any dough from his father's music.
I have tickets to the Hot Rats tour this fall. I have seen him twice and each time
he had a different rithym section that were incredibly hot. He works his ass off
and his siblings give him poopie.
I have tickets too and that will be a much better experience. I’ve been 3 times before and got to talk to Dweezil and the band briefly afterwards too. Last night Ahmet was selling Hot Rats shirts and vinyl. Dweezil isn’t allowed to sell Frank specific merchandise but I still feel like it will eat into his profit. I think Ahmet’s tour must be losing money. It was so badly publicised - I only found out about it a week before and I follow various Zappa and gig feeds on Twitter and Instagram. It wasn’t in any of them. The place was only about 1/3 full.

I'd go see this (at least once) just because I'm such a big Zappa fan.
But I would hope that the tracks of Frank that they use are live recordings from the vault that I've never heard before, wouldn't want to just hear something from an exact recording that I've already heard before.

At least we still have Dweezil keeping his father's music alive (and doing a fine job of it), and I will continue to go and see Dweezil play Frank's music every chance I get.

They are from a previously unreleased live show or a reconstruction of a live show that was filmed but never shown. I think. There was an interview with Ahmet in Prog Rock magazine where he explained it. Not sure if you get that in the states?
