I repeat myself when I recommend the 4 eyes fuzz yet once more.
An AMAZING pedal once you know it!
I wonder how it compares with the team awsome fuzzmachine, which I have not yet had the opportunity to hear/try.

Try the Seymour Duncan La Super Rica fuzz. It has a toggle switch to adjust the amount of bass. I have the Earthquaker Cloven Hoof and it works great with bass.

I'm slightly hesitant to tell you this, because a) it's not EXACTLY what you're asking for and b) it's one of MY secret weapons, but...

Earthquaker Devices Bit Commander.

They bill it as a monophonic synth, and it IS that, but here's the thing: it's a crazy good fuzz. It takes your signal and splits it into four octaves: the orginal, one up and two down. Each of those is then run into a fuzz, some gated/some not, some softer/some more aggressive. You've got a knob to control how much of each octave is mixed in, plus another to control the overall tonal quality. The end result, for both guitar and bass, is a HUGE and hugely detailed fuzz orchestra.

Swollen Pickle seems to work pretty well with both. It's got a lot of tone control, which is a blessing and a curse, but if you should spend some time with it, you should find something you like on each instrument. And it's certainly not low end shy.

FWIW I discovered a great fuzz by experimenting with one of my old guitar pedals, an Ibanez Turbo Tube Screamer TS9DX. I run it hot into my Darkglass B3k, enough to break up the microtubes, and it just goes nuts.

Thanks all for your great advice. I did consider seriously the TAFM. I had the chance to try it a lot. Awesome with bass and very versatile. Good tone with guitar but drive and fuzz knobs pass both 12 o'clock, it does more of a fizz than a fuzz. So I'm looking for a fuzz that "fuzz" at all settings. Maybe the Grey Stache is another good choice. Finally it looks like there is not a lot of comments the four pedals I listed. Did someone tried one of those?

I'd take a Big Muff derivative of some sort. The Blackout Musket v2 has been my favorite for a long time now, and it works VERY well on bass and guitar. It doesn't get lost in a live mix either. No longer the flavor of the week so it's often forgotten about but it's still better than most out there.
