Same here. It does sound pretty good and it's inexpensive. Maybe a Christmas gift for myself...might make practicing more fun.

I think we'll leave it as an exercise for the student to dig up an example of a portable gramophone. I've little doubt someone came up with one. After all, someone came up with this!

Normally i would agree with this but i make an exception for this one purely because it's not just another pedal/amp/bass demo, this one does actually need a bit of explanation.

Would have alleviated it somewhat if he began the video with a short example of playing and then explained how he was getting that sound, and then played more.

Getting mixed reactions for sure, but it's one of those things - great for some applications, 'cone of shame' for others. If you practice a lot of jazz at home, this could be great. If you live in a small house or apartment and have no room for an upright, or just crave an upright vibe every now and then, this will be great for sure.
