GK MB500: $297.50 at Musician's Friend

They will deliver. I wouldn't be concerned in the slightest. I bought in at the very end of the deal with an ETA of 2/10. Not sure that I'll actually follow through but at least its in queue and its an option. I just started the research for a new rig and have no firm idea for what I want yet.

To be clear, I'm not worried, just annoyed. At the time I placed the order the web site "Available 12/14." Now, two weeks after that date, they're telling me that it's still not available and they have no idea when it will be. If, when I placed the order, the web site had said it was out of stock and that they had no idea when it would be available, I'm not sure if I would've ordered it. I just don't like the feeling that I'm getting jerked around.

I just received another email from MF: "Thank you again for your order <#XXXXX>. We have yet to receive the out of stock item(s) noted below, but we have more on order with the manufacturer. We will ship them to you as soon as we receive them. We sincerely appreciate your patience."

It's now been 6 and a half weeks since I placed my order, and exactly 5 weeks since the date I was originally told they would have it in stock. My patience is beginning to wear thin....

Interesting. The message I received yesterday sounded optimistic. The unusually large response was clearly due to a pricing mistake. I'm glad they are following through. Hopefully GK is able to deliver the order requests in a reasonable timeframe. Anytime it is near the end of the year nobody wants to keep inventory due to taxes which always means delays at the beginning of the year.

"Due to an unusually large response, we are temporarily out of stock of the item(s) you ordered. Additional quantities are on order and we expect them soon. Your order will receive priority upon receipt in the warehouse, and we expect to be able to ship your order within 30 days. We are very sorry for the delay and assure you that we are making every effort to speed your order to you."
