US: South GTG in DFW?

It was a tremendous time. My first bass get together and definitely not my last. It was great to meet some folks from here and put some faces to some names. Nu Jam is a great spot for music. Next time having a drummer along and doing a bit more group jamming would be awesome.

It was a kick being in the same room as thundering rigs as varied as contemporary Audiokinesis and Barefaced cabs and a big old folded horn tube Vox (was that a vox? Goodness my memory...) run through a rheostat.

Empress or Markbass would be a great first comp.

Unless you caught feelings for my Cali76 which is basically their love child.

You won't like the prices of almost anything I brought except for that Markbass.

That Markbass unit is on my TB Classifieds and Reverb watchlist now. I have some pickups and a Squire VM fretless neck to sell that will clear the price of it.

Also, I NEED that Gary Willis joint.

Definitely! It's a hell of an instrument.

That would be a 1972 Univox UX-1501. Very cool!

That was really nice - THANKS to the guys who hosted and made it happen!!

Next time I'll bring more gear. The F#-worthy cab I mentioned is a Carvin TRX2121
TRX2121 21 Inch 2000W Subwoofer, and I didn't have a trailer this weekend. I might bring an acoustic bass or a double bass too, if tgat would be of intrest?

For next time, more jamming would be nice. Also, from what I heard, there are some WAY impressive chops among us - I'm a baby by comparison. If we're going to jam I'll bring horns again.

What would you all think about doing some more systematic show and tell next time? For example, I'd like to be able to hear our pedal wizards, or Duke, show their stuff in detail.

And yes that is a nice facility.

Yeah man!

I agree. Hopefully we can find a drummer and maybe a guitar player for next time.

I agree and I was thinking the same thing. We'll do it!

Yes a good setup for this type of thing.

I darn near added that to my cart but then I saw that it was 4 ohm so I'd need a second power amp just for that and it took the wind out of my sails.

Captive audience?? I'm in!
