As a side note, GC is one of the few places you can even buy a Mark Bass brand of anything, so no one else would have a sale like that because they can't carry that brand.

Musicians Friend carries Markbass and frequently has them on sale. I got my Little Mark 800 from there for $500.

Are you near Portland? There's a band out there on the Misfits Record Label, named Juicehead. They're close friends, but since they moved out there I haven't seen them.

I certainly have gotten my money's worth from my MarkBass 121P CMP. It's my do-everything amp.

In another thread on TB, I'm doing a comparison between my a Markbass Little Tube 800 with two sealed 4x8 cabs, and a Markbass SD1200 with two sealed 4x10's. I've never seen or heard a reason to dislike either of them... But for several reasons, I'm adding all tubes to my arsenal now.

The Mark stuff won't go ever go anywhere though, and me and a few of the TB guys hashed out the whole GC/ Markbass/ Overseas thing last year. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of their new stuff, but I admit, I'm proud of the fact that my stuff is the all Italian stuff.

They stopped using B&C speakers and stopped making 6" and 8" speaker cabs... and they stopped making the sealed 4x10 I believe.... and my beloved SD1200 too... Well I'm glad to see that others still use and love Mark stuff.

The Mesa Strategy with two Markbass New York 804 4x8 cabs is SICK!

They're an incredible band. Rob is an excellent writer and composer... very musical and clean sounding. They haven't released an album since 2011 but one is due I hope... and with the Misfits reuniting, Juichead will definitely be their opening act.

Well then, I wouldn't mind someone pointing out any other store selling a brand new $900 amp or bass for $500.

Come to Nashville and visit the locally owned shops. They have comparable sales quite often.

But yeah Guitar Centers, like any other chain, vary in quality and customer service depending on the staff. The one nearest to me is pretty decent.

If you mean Clackamas, most of the staff there is people who worked at the smaller shops on Music Row until those got bulldozed for condos or whatever in '15ish. Good folks, they know their stuff.

I was referring to the one in Beaverton, but Clackamas is good too. They always seem to have the best selection in town.

I'm pretty sure I saw the pinkburst Geddy on Reverb. Some guy or business refinished basses and was listing them. Pretty sure I saw a yellow Geddy awhile back as well. but nothing there today when I checked today.
