How is the fan noise on the Fender Rumble V 500?

I have recently purchased a Tech 21 VT Bass 500. An excellent amp head that pretty well comes close to emulating some of the classic amps of the past. However, I am sending it back. It makes fan noise that is very loud and bothersome. It starts out decent but in a matter of minutes it sounds louder than the drills dentists use. Despite its great sound the fan will not allow me to play smaller inimate settings. That is I where play half the time.
As the title of the thread asks, how does the fan on the Fender Amp compare? I really do not want to send that one back as well. Thanx for any help you can give me.

Maybe try another VT? I've had mine for over a year now and fan noise has never been an issue. Even when mine ramps up I wouldn't say it's loud or disruptive. We may just have different opinions on what is loud or disruptive though.

That is probably true. Certain types of noises affect me like the old fimngernails scratching a chaulkboard. Even if it not loud to others it would drive me crazy. (OCD). It does sound unusually loud compared to my Carvin BX 500. Cannot hear that one at all.

Thanks, Linin. Does it have the old tube sound as well? I noticed it has a "vintage" selector switch.

You're welcome @fretlessguy. Fender Rumbles can sound as close to a tube amp as you are going to get in a strictly solid state design. Go audition one for yourself.

Same with the 500 I have, there's supposed to be a fan in there so I'll have to take their word.

Very quiet indeed. I've never noticed any fan noise from my 500c at all, so I never think about it.

None of my fans have ever made any noise regardless of what amp or, for that matter, bass I use. They have on occasion thrown thing s. The band just tells me to turn down.

I never even noticed the fan running, tho I know it has !!!
