How is the fan noise on the Fender Rumble V 500?

Hmm. Well mine makes noise which is tolerable at about ten feet away, but today I plugged in an 8 ohm extension speaker and the fan noise was very clearly coming out of that speaker as well. So, not just the mechanical sound of the fan, but also electrical noise transmitted to the speaker.
I really like this amps tone, but this noise is about to make me return it ( while I still can).
So is this something I just have to live with, or are there quieter good amps out there for the same money.

You might have gotten a lemon. Get it replaced and see if the other one does the same.

I have recently purchased a Tech 21 VT Bass 500. An excellent amp head that pretty well comes close to emulating some of the classic amps of the past. However, I am sending it back. It makes fan noise that is very loud and bothersome. It starts out decent but in a matter of minutes it sounds louder than the drills dentists use. Despite its great sound the fan will not allow me to play smaller inimate settings. That is I where play half the time.
As the title of the thread asks, how does the fan on the Fender Amp compare? I really do not want to send that one back as well. Thanx for any help you can give me.
Is there any possibility that you are loading the amp too heavily? This would cause it to work harder than usual and then the fan runs harder. Check your cabs rated impedance(s) to be sure you aren't below the minimum fir your amp. Or that one cab or one speaker isn't bad.

This is the Rumble 500 V3 combo amp - brand new. So I don't think it could be overloading itself. The fan comes on as soon as I turn on the amp. It does not appear to change speed. I don't know, maybe I'm being too fussy. This is my first large bass amp. Maybe that is not fan noise, but just amp noise that is coming from the thing.

I went back to Sam Ash and the sales folk, whom I've worked with a lot over the years, told me I was crazy and that some noise in unavoidable. I played an Aguilar tone hammer head and it has a fan too, but the noise does not appear to come through the speaker. I tried the Rumble 500 head and it does have the same hiss through the speaker when I put my ear right up to the cab. Of course, a Sam Ash store is nowhere near as quite as my practice room so it's hard to tell.

So some of you experienced folks please tell me, is some hiss just unavoidable in a big amp like this? I can definitely hear it within a couple of feet of the amp, but only when I am not playing and I'm in a quite room. Should I just let it go?
thanks

I did go down the list and checked everything out, so it was the amp. Sent it back and traded it in for the Fender head and I am a happy camper with it. Thanx!
