How Long Have You Owned and Played The Same Bass?

When I was young it seemed like a good idea to strip the sunburst and make my own
tractor.

Sounds as good today as in '69.

The one I’ve had the longest and still have is my Warwick Corvette Standard. 11 years this month.

BDVK bass made in High school woodshop in 74...only comes out once or twice a year.

67 EBO I got around 1974 ....used as a piccolo bass nowadays.

My first Peavey T40 I got in 77 I still play quite often, took it to my last gig.

Besides those I have a 77 Ric I got in 78 and a 77 Pbass I also got in 78 that still see use.

I get bored with basses and flip them fairly frequently. Mainly because I'm not a hoarder and don't want a bunch of basses sitting around. I try to keep the number at 2 basses but at times it has swelled to 3. I don't think I've owned a particular bass longer than 3-4 years. I tend to hang on to amps longer.

Played the same Jazz Bass from 1975- 2016 modified it a lot during the years. It doesn't come out of the closet very often anymore. When I'm not playing my upright, I grab the fretted Precision.

The longest I've owned any instrument - my '79 Rickenbacker 4001 - that I've been playing since 1979. 38 years and counting - and I've enjoyed every minute of having it.
