I don't get new post alerts like I used to (new posts in watched threads)

In the old days, I'd see a red bell or something that would alert me to new posts in the threads I was active in. Now, I cannot see any, although I click on my username manu and I can see there are new posts.

I have spent time in the Alert Preferences and there is nothing there that is changing the outcome. I don't want emails, I just want to see a little icon where it displays my username so that I know to click inside because there is NEW STUFF.

@paul I turned on "generate new alerts without reading ..." and I'll see how that goes. Thanks!

Sounds good. Without that option checked, you have to actually load the thread before you get any new alerts for it.

Actively working on this. I've never seen this before, and haven't gotten any other reports. Do you happen to know what kind of alert these are that are missing? Like, are they tag alerts (so and so tagged you in a thread) or is there anything else in common with the missing ones?

I don’t really know because it doesn’t say.

I I turned on "generate new alerts..." yesterday and I got alerts today. Unfortunately they were all marked read and were grouped with previous alerts that actual I had read.

Alerts are crazy at my windows 11 also. The red alert sometimes lights even if there is no new messages, and sometimes when there is, it's not lighting.

They are all together not separate.

There's an option to change your default search order, in your profile preferences. Or, you can do an advanced search (click search, the gear, and then "advanced").

I am now starting to see red notification icons, but only when I first refresh the page. So it's... nearly working.

I was having the same issue of not receiving alerts to threads with new posts. Checking "Generate new alerts without reading threads" seems to have fixed the issue. I'm still keeping an eye out for updated threads and corresponding alert.
