YMMV but I had multiple strings come unraveled/break around the tuners even when I left the silks on. Unless you guys are talking about a short scale set.

Ah....Ok.....I've only ever used Short scale TI Flats on mine.....(Other than the stock strings that I removed within a week).....YMMV but I had multiple strings come unraveled/break around the tuners even when I left the silks on. Unless you guys are talking about a short scale set.
He had the most incredible ability to buy people's gear for nothing. Once he found out said gear's worth online that was the price he wanted (except for me). He couldn't sell very well, due to his inability to haggle. The days I got to run the shop, I threw the nonhaggle model out the door. If I was there when someone made a reasonable offer, I'd turn to him and force him to come back with a counter offer. I'd make fun of him for his poor ability to sell. I think he just loved gear, more than selling it.Enablers never help the addicted and afflicted, but are remembered at the holidays...
... really unsure where this stuff comes from, but it just does...
I love when that happens! It not only saves some serious money, it also eliminates the 'splainin' about where it came from and how much it cost!it's like G.A.S. for a bass i already own
So it sounds like you now own two basses you really like. Win-Win!
Besides, a Mustang bass is just too cool a shortie to pass up. Play them both well!
Have fun!.....i own four basses i really like - the green mikro, the fender modern player dimension, the jag ss and the mustang
the danger is we're about to head off to guitar center sherman oaks...

BTW, if there’s a G2002 version of the Gretsch Junior Jet short-scale there - DO NOT try it out. You have been warned.
