In response to how many basses....

I now own about 15 basses and 20 plus ukuleles. Before my divorce...I owned 1 bass for 40 years----a '65 Precision. I am obviously trying to compensate for losing my wife, my 3 daughters and my home. So far its working.

Not sure whether to feel sorry for your loss or feel sorry that the hole left behind is shallow enough to be filled with materialism.

I really hope this was meant to be sarcasm or some kind of weird joke that I don't get.

So sorry to hear of your troubles. I have my own life threatening issues.
Be out with people, find your center, which might be music, never feel sorry for yourself, try to think about good things only like getting a bunch of new bass gear. Just be sure you use what you buy for maximum enjoyment. If that doesn’t happen, take a pause on that and look elsewhere.

Getting out and about is a great head helper for me. Hopefully you’re as lucky as me with great friends.
For me, having too many instruments to be able to enjoy all of them has led me to rethink...

Having a backup is never a bad idea, however I currently only own and use one bass, it serves its purpose and does pretty much everything I need it to do...well besides fetching me a beer and making me something to eat.

Ugh, I feel ya. I had one bass - in a closet for years - during my first marriage. When the marriage fell apart, it was music that gave me an alternative to drowning in a bottle. That was six years, two bands, five guitars, and twelve basses ago.

In the end, I also got to keep the house, motorcycle and 50% placement of our two daughters. Things have a way of working out. Keep you head above water and tomorrow always brings a new day.

As ‘they’ say, (regarding the divorce) pics or it didn’t happen
J/k
Seriously though....Hope you are enjoying the new chapter in life and making the best of it. I paid my dues in that institution we call marriage. In the formal sense, it ain’t for everyone including, me.
I wanna see a (bass) family pic:hyper:

I’m sorry but I read people sharing their experiences and offering support if wanted.

The word judge has come into use in the last decade. It’s often used to make sure someone doesn’t “judge” them. I believe we can live without being in each other’s business. Yet observation is just observation.

A car went by I heard the right rear shoes grinding into the disc. I said right rear brakes dragging. Someone else said you’re judging. Nope observation. Judging would be, “that person is an idiot doesn’t do maintenance and doesn’t respect machines.”

Doctor says you kid has 103° fever. Judgement? Or observation. We make that mean I’m a bad parent etc.

We choose to communicate on here. The help is usually greatly appreciated. :):)
