Mine was black and had the grounding strap. Defretted the neck and sold it to a friend 15+ years ago. He still owns and plays it.

I say real. If someone was gonna fake a fender for resale, I think they'd brand it an MIA.

Real. I don't think people fake mid 90's Japanese Fenders.
