So I was mentioning to my girlfriend how cool I think pink basses are and while I was on the phone blabbering to her about it she was on the thomann website buying me one of the new Harley Benton Jazz basses as a surprise birthday gift. A Harley Benton MV-4JB in shell pink :D

I'm shocked at the quality of this bass. It feels better than my squier 40th anniversary jazz bass which costs more than twice as much. Also has white binding and flawless fretwork and the pickups sound amazing. Ive played a 2000 dollar G&L jazz bass and this Harley Benton is about one tier lower in quality in my honest opinion. It came set up and all I had to do was adjust the pickup height. The bass is obviously a keeper but I think my girlfriend is as well ;)

Super cool! (we have a "Shell Pink" club somewhere, come and share!) and I'm suprised it's not even heavy.

I've been missing having a shell pink bass in my arsenal, lately it's been fancy wood but hopefully I can pull the trigger to get back more color!

If it inspires you to play, definitely a keeper.
I used to be a gear snob and thinking a known brand with a high price tag was always better but not anymore.
There are very good and bad ones from any manufacturer at all price point nowadays so when you grab a good one, better keep it.

There is just something spectacular and incredibly awesome about having a significant other that supports your music....and gear addiction. :D

While my wife has never bought me a bass, she has never flinched in telling me to go buy one or got upset if I made an impulse buy of basses or gear.

While I don't care for the color, your new bass looks really great. I love bound and blocked necks! I am also starting to develop a real love of "different" side dots. Those look super cool! Congrats on the new bass!

Is this even a question? Of course the bass is a keeper because it's a gift from your girlfriend (who could become your fiancé and wife one day). So if you know what's good for you, you will keep it and cherish it forever.

If you value your girlfriend, you will value that thoughtful bass she gifted you.

That is not a bass. It's a symbol of love and caring from your girlfriend. That is NOT something you get rid of, unless you get rid of her. And by the sounds of it, you probably won't because she seems like a keeper.

I showed my wife a picture of a pink Bass and said I think that's cool. She didn't like it I was shocked! However that one looks nice.
