I think I have become besotted with the "Mystic Tube".
Recently I hooked up my Zephyr tube preamp to play thru' the power amp section
of a Fender Bassman 300 Pro. It was, absolutely gorgeous, to me anyway.

So I am now searching for a stand alone 300watt tube power amp that can be used with the Zephyr.

Is there such a thing, if so, does anyone know where I could get one ? Your help will be appreciated.

Now this isn’t 300W, but a Peavey 120/120 can get you most of the way with 240W bridged. That or just run a stereo rack chorus between the pre and the Peavey and run the power amp in stereo.

Thanks, I will research that later today. Is that the model number, is it old or current production ?

Ampeg SVT-300. It's a rackmounted 300-watt all-tube power amp; it's essentially an SVT-II without the preamp section. They are pretty hard to find. In my opinion, you'd be better off just buying a 300-watt tube head (eg. Ampeg, Fender, etc.) and just pushing your preamp through the power amp section's direct input.

Agree. Another hidden benefit of this is that you always have a "backup" amp available if your Zephyr ever quits on a gig.

Thanks for your enthusiastic love for the YBA300, I was tossing up between it & the Pro300,
but could only find the latter used, at the time. Maybe down the road I'll try one, but for now
I want to get a tube power amp for the fantastic Zephyr.

Thanks, I will keep my eye out for one of those.
I may have to end up doing that, but I don't want to.

There is an SVT power amp, the SVT-300, not common, but they are about. Pretty simple so a custom builder could make one fairly easily, SVT type iron is available easy enough.
Yes, I might just look into that. Just need to find the right custom builder !!

There are also the Mesa Strategy 500, 2 channel, ~200w per channel for a total of about 400w.
If the OP is not stuck on 300w, the Mesa 2:100 all tube power amp is something to consider too. 2 channel, 100w per channel.

I have a 2:90 in my collection of amps, and it sounds great with your choice of preamp.

I had to look up "besotted". Great word!
