A better look of the figuring on blocked neck. Thanks all so far...

Truthfully aesthetics is a secondary concern for me. I would be much more concerned with feel both in thickness / radius, etc as well as finish. IMO the satin neck would get priority if all else is equal. If either is signifantly better feeling in hand than the other than the winner is with that neck. If they are absolutely equal in every way other than aesthetics then I say the dark board with tort will go good with the dauphine blue body mores than the light blocked board.

Thanks for that, plan is to rough fit both necks and have a look.
As far as pick guards go I have either tort-alicious or off-white (parchment) and don't plan to purchase anything additional :)
@C Stone ,
Can you post pics of the body with the necks Dry fit on?
The neck with the blocks is awesome and would be my choice IF it goes with the body color.
That's true. You could always assemble them without screwing the parts down, take a bunch of pics and compare the results. It'd almost be like a fashion magazine photo-shoot…snappin' tons of pics of the model in various mixes of clothes and accessories to see which works best. :snaphappy:

…and now I have "Girls On Film" stuck in my head which, fortunately, isn't necessarily a bad thing. :headphone:

The blue deserves a clean looking neck. Go with the dots. IMO the block / binding scenario would work if it was white or pearloid. Black is to distracting in this case.
@C Stone; To be fair, he's not wrong. There is such a thing as making something look too "busy". For example, I never mix a black pearloid guard with a neck that has pearloid blocks. For my tastes, it tips it over the edge and has too much going on, visually speaking. Sometimes, a nice, clean look can be the way to go. ;)

…and let me be the first to go on the record to call "DOUBLE-DOG DIBS!!" if you should decide the bound & blocked neck just isn't working and you feel the need to pass it on to someone who might be able to use it. :D

Yea I get it, that IS why the plain Jane black dot neck is even in the running, it may in fact work better ascetically with that particular color...I havent seen a daphne blue in the wild with black block neck maybe there is a good reason.

"DOUBLE-DOG DIBS!!" has been noted! I have a hard time thinning the herd or even spare parts which is why this bass is even a thing right now, and the fact this is by far the best maple figuring i've seen on a CV neck.;)

Sorry about the ear-worm, CS! But hey, at least it's a good song! (…not to mention an <ahem> entertaining music video! )

Indeed! I rarely buy a brand-new instrument, but I had to have that 2019 Squier Classic Vibe Jazz neck seen pictured earlier on that Siennaburst body. The figuring and vintage-style tinting was way too yummy for me to pass up! That's why I called dibs in the incredibly unlikely event you decide you don't need it. ;)

Haha no apology needed, fan of John Taylors basslines, great neck btw, that is a nice specimen you got there so I guess they are out there. Nice grab couldn't see it near as well on your sienna burst pic, nice match, it's a beaut!

Mock-ups here we go...Ugh! Help!
First let my say I can get along with any neck I just adjust, I do 'prefer' J necks though. So the black dot maple J neck will need a tad of heel re-shaping to fit (not a big deal).

The CV J neck (blocked/bound) fits perfectly 'as is' and the other one 'thrown in tha mix' fits as well and is a cheapo Glarry P neck with a composite rosewood board, a take-off neck that was just sitting here in tha pile so I added it.

As much as I like tort I am heavily leaning toward the parchment guard for any of the combos it just works for me on this color bass, what say you fellow t'bers?

Blocked and bound with the white PG looks sweeeet!
Do you have any other color knobs?... something to go with the neck a bit maybe?
