Jazz Basses with 70's Bridge Pickup Placement and Thin Neck

I’ve never heard of that Peavey model. Seems like they’re a great deal. Thanks!
They used to be a steal, now the word's out and they are just a really good deal. $200-400 for an American made bass is pretty silly. I'm a J guy, but these grabbed me and I like them every bit as much as a Fender.
The thinnest necks are on the early 90s ones. Here's a pic of my 84 on the left and the 93 on the right. Electronically, they are identical, but you can see the hardware, body shape and logo differences. The 93 had the thinnest neck I have ever experienced on a Foundation. The 84 has what I would consider a standard J neck profile.
The pickups are located at 28" & 32" from the nut. For reference, my 72 Jazz pickups are at 27.75" and 31.75" from the nut.

Those look great! To my eye, it looks like both pickuos might be even closer to the bridge than the standard 70’s spacing. Awesome!
It's a little tricky to see in my pic with everything dark and black but both pickups are only 1/4" closer to the bridge than a bonafide 70s Jazz bass. The pickups also have a very cool tone, slightly more aggressive than a standard J pickup. They are single coils and have hum canceling when combined equally. A home run, in my book.
Here's a pic that shows the PUs more clearly.

How does the weight compare to a T-40?

also check out the deluxe jaguar bass. the ones made in japan have 70s bridge pickup placement. it looks like the modern player and american standard may have 70s placement as well.
The original Jaguar is a great choice if you are looking for a very thin neck. The Jaguars that followed don't have the "thin C" designation that Fender used for the original Jag and the older Geddy Lee as far as I know. I own the original Jag and the neck is very thin, front to back.

How does the weight compare to a T-40?
Much lighter. Most T40s had northern ash bodies, some solid colors were poplar, maple or alder.
Foundations had ash, alder and mahogany on the naturals and sunbursts; poplar, alder and maple on the solid colors.
My 84 Foundation is the heaviest at 9#11oz (I think it's a maple body), the 85 is 8#14oz (looks like alder) and the 93 was very light at 8#1oz alder body. They balance nicely.

here's another vote for the first run of CIJ Fender Jaguar bass. 70s pickup spacing and the thinnest neck i ever played. in addition it has some other cool features: series/parallel switch, 2way boost-only active electronics (defeatable), passive tone control that works in active mode as well.
