Light weight, low price bass?

The Tobias Toby's are right up your alley. Stupid light. 34 inches, 24 frets. They have some goofy electronics - I rewired mine. I think the cheaper ones might not have the silly electronics.

I picked up this Yamaha 5er for under $500 new in Panama, its probably got to be much less expensive in the states, 24frets, passive/active electronics and fairly light

G&L JB2 Tribute, I picked one up in great shape under $300.00 last year, I feel like a genius for buying it..
Light bass, solid, built well, replaced the nut and it's a keeper!
As gig-worthy as any bass I've ever owned..

Another vote for Ibanez. When you say, light weight, easy to play, well built, and affordable that just pretty much shouts Ibanez to me.

I think the SRX is only available used now. It's an amazingly versatile instrument. You can sometimes find the quilted top sunburst model and it's still very inexpensive. Ridiculous value.

I think most are saying Soundgear Ibanez, not just any Ibanez.
The heaviest bass I've owned was a Ibanez BTB, 1/4 lb. heavier then my RIC 4004.
The ATKs are notoriously heavy!

AFAIK, they don't list weights on the really cheap ones.

If it has "Choose your favorite" or "Compare both", then it will have weights listed:

Notice that only one of these has the "Compare both" button.

It's not all that common on the cheap ones:

Don't know what to tell you, bubba. I looked up Squier bass on Sweetwater, and got an exact serial number and weight. As I said, you can also just call them up (or email them, but you could lose the bass if someone buys it before you), and the rep will be happy to go through the basses one by one and tell you the weights.

No, you can't just call them, because I called about the GSR100 & they couldn't tell me anything about the weights & they were in stock.

They don't do the weight thing on the cheapest ones, which was my point all along!

Don't know what to tell you,

I know what to tell you, which I already have. They don't list weights on the cheapest ones & they won't tell you over the phone either.

You posted: "Even their cheaper basses show the exact bass"

a few of the cheap ones, definitely not all of them

Lots of companies make basses out of basswood, it's light and cheap. ... But, I'm guessing you're not a player because you never mention body, pickups and neck? Three very important considerations.
