As a lead guitar player I didn't know of all the small light weight bass heads out there until recently , but are there a lot of good cabs with a 12 in the 20 to under 30 pound range ? 200 250 watts would probably do for small club fill ins on bass I do , no PA support needed , but would probably want a speaker that could handle 400 or so to be safe , for now just using small combos, but as I get a older I can see the time will come to go feather weight for everything , one name that popped up here was "Barefaced" ? looked like from there website a small 12in would be all i would ever need , just want to get a idea of whats out there in light, decent 12 in. single cabs to consider for the future , Thanks .

AudioKinesis Hathor 1203 is 2 pounds heavier at 25 pounds, cost a little less, and have a better handle design.

Thank you for the mention.

Sadly the weight of the Hathor 1203 has ballooned to 26 pounds, as I've switched to using three small ports instead of one big port. Not that three holes weigh all that much more than one hole.... it's the additional bracing that's the culprit.

Are you looking for a guitar speaker or a bass speaker?

If you are looking for a guitar speaker, unless you are into modeling/profiling (FRFR cabinets), I think you will find bass guitar type cabinets quite lifeless and dull when used for guitar.

Based on the OP, he's looking for a bass cab.

I was not sure because he said he was a lead guitar player, nothing indicated that he was switching to bass.

My Eden EX112 is right at 30 lbs. Easy enough to carry in one hand, or put on a small luggage cart. sounds great, 300 watts RMS, great for small venues!

...and I happen to be selling one. A 4 ohm version.

My ST112P weighs approximately 25 lbs, sounds great, is loud (and attains deeper freqs than I need). And the TL806 I built 20 some years ago is just 23 lbs, even with aluminum edges, steel grill and corners, and "plastic" laminate. However, the latter is limited to 100-ish watts power handling.

One of Duke’s Hathor 1203’s would be my choice (literally). I love the Barefaced stuff as well (I have some of each) but there’s something (well, a few things) about Duke’s cabs that make it special for me.

Between those two ( of my preferences) I think that it would depend on where you’re ordering from. In Europe, I’d probably go Barefaced. In North America, Audiokinesis. This is more for logistics than anything else.
