Pbassmanca
In the pocket n' thumpy. So woody, so greasy...
The Mesa Subway 112 is a great sounding lightweight cab and very well built. Markbass also makes several lightweight 12" models that might suit you.
How does the cabinet know? Are the Barefaced intended for upright bass only ?
I believe my Bergantino HDN 1-12 comes in @ 28 lbsAs a lead guitar player I didn't know of all the small light weight bass heads out there until recently , but are there a lot of good cabs with a 12 in the 20 to under 30 pound range ? 200 250 watts would probably do for small club fill ins on bass I do , no PA support needed , but would probably want a speaker that could handle 400 or so to be safe , for now just using small combos, but as I get a older I can see the time will come to go feather weight for everything , one name that popped up here was "Barefaced" ? looked like from there website a small 12in would be all i would ever need , just want to get a idea of whats out there in light, decent 12 in. single cabs to consider for the future , Thanks .
Maybe it does, but IMO... It feels heavy as ....The EA wizzy just squeaks in at 29 pounds.
what I ment was I thought I read where it was intended for a upright player ? maybe I was wrong on that , for reference I know a acoustic guitar amp dose not sound as a good when used for electric guitar , etc ...How does the cabinet know?
It's got to do with voicing the cab. Some cab designs are more suited to DB than others and vice versa. How does the cabinet know?
Yes thank you, I probably should have said I was I was wanting one suited to electric bass .It's got to do with voicing the cab. Some cab designs are more suited to DB than others and vice versa.
Aguilar SL 112 at 25lbs. Fantastic cabs.As a lead guitar player I didn't know of all the small light weight bass heads out there until recently , but are there a lot of good cabs with a 12 in the 20 to under 30 pound range ? 200 250 watts would probably do for small club fill ins on bass I do , no PA support needed , but would probably want a speaker that could handle 400 or so to be safe , for now just using small combos, but as I get a older I can see the time will come to go feather weight for everything , one name that popped up here was "Barefaced" ? looked like from there website a small 12in would be all i would ever need , just want to get a idea of whats out there in light, decent 12 in. single cabs to consider for the future , Thanks .
If you can manage to somehow try the cabs out in a live situation with a full band that's really the best way to pick. I would take a close look and listen to the Bergantino cab you suspect your local music store might be carrying. See if they'll rent one out so you can try both lugging it and playing it in a real world performing scenario. Or the same for any other of the suggested cabs in this thread.I wonder if the best way to pick would be going with the most power handling capability in the speaker, so no strain , and the most efficient DB rating ?? I will probably use combos for a while but for sure plan on going to this super light weight stuff in the future , I think it will help with the aching joints LOL
Looks like there is no shortage of choices ! The hard part would be which one to pick , my needs I think would be pretty simple just being loud enough for small to maybe med. gigs, and a basic clean sound for older style traditional country bass , so I am guessing most any of the ones mentioned would work for that ?? I love the under 30 pound part ! I think the local music store may have the Bergantino cab in 112 ? I wonder if the best way to pick would be going with the most power handling capability in the speaker, so no strain , and the most efficient DB rating ??
