Mesa Amps with Ampeg Cabs

I used Ampeg SVT cabs and V-4B cabs but have since switched to Mesa [2] 4X10's but I use a completely different head than what you are using.

I know better than most people what Mesa heads and Ampeg cabs sound like. I've had many Ampeg heads, and I've switched to Mesa due to overall quality (not to knock Ampeg, just my preference). What I can tell you is the Mesa heads can easily overpower the Ampeg cabs (HLFs)...

Wow. Amazing racks! Do you actually gig those monsters?

checking in here, Mesa M6 through Ampeg 8x10e. love it. bought the mesa as a lighter weight backup to the svt, but it actually gets just as much play time as the svt.

Awesome. I'm getting a lot of positive feedback for this Mesa amp/Ampeg cab combo. I'm seriously leaning toward doing this. But I'm now also looking at using GK CX 410 and 210, or even Peavey Headliner or PVH cabs. But I'm leaning more toward two SVT 410HE cabs.

Curious to know if anyone is running a Mesa head into an Ampeg 2x12 as well.

Not exactly a single 212 cab but:
I'm running a Mesa Subway D-800 through two SVT 112AV cabs and the sound is fantastic! Fat, warm, defined. They really pair well with that head.
With that Mesa head I even run the compression driver on the 112's and it really blossoms the highend.
Something I had always avoided with Ampeg heads as it quickly became too HiFi for my flavah.
I have a pair of SVT 210AV's I plan to try out next (albeit not at high volumes) :)

Hey, sorry to resurrect this thread but to the OP if you are still active here...Did you end up getting two 410HE's to run with the M9? I was doing some searching for this exact idea when I found this thread. Curious if you did this and what your thoughts were.

No, I ended up getting two Mesa Powerhouse 4x10s, and they sound killer, but now I'm interested in the Barefaced Big Twin II.
